This website is primarily focused to Pharaonic Egyptian beadwork, although contemporary beaded fabrics from the West Asian and North African region are also objects of study. Similar technologies may be found here or even similar use of objects throughout millennia. Beadwork still has an important role in costume and costume jewelry in the region. Especially in Africa, beadwork is intensely used. The objects described here thus also serve as a reference collection to the study of ancient beadwork.
